Camping ( tents and vehicles)
For those who prefer to camp, tent sites are available on a grassy field near the river. It is now the Camp’s policy that campers must use the bathroom facilities in the dorms and must pay the same fees as designated for the dorms. In the event of inclement weather, you may relocate into the dorms.
Vehicles may not be parked on the grass.
RV’s and other camping vehicles must park in designated paved/gravel parking areas. There is no RV hookup.
If you sleep in your car or RV you are considered a camper and thus use the Location Tent/Campsite on the Registration form.
“Solo” Upgrades (single occupancy):
While we will do our best to accommodate requests for single-occupancy cabins, our growing community and rising facility costs mean we need to clarify our “Solo Upgrade” policies for this year.
Why the change?
- Rising Costs: Camp Mikell has introduced higher rates, including specific fees for single occupancy.
- Higher Demand: More guests than ever are requesting solo cabins.
- Premium Popularity: We’ve seen a significant increase in Premium Cabin requests.
- Family Growth: A much larger number for cabins by families with young children joining us this year.
- Sustainability: To keep the SEG sustainable Upgrade rates reflect the costs of the unoccupied bed.
Our revised Solo Upgrade Policy:
- A limited number of solo upgrades will be available
- Solo Upgrades will only be available in Standard Cabins and Retreat Village, 2 or 3 night reservations
- Solo upgrades will only be assigned to paid reservations.
Charges for Solo Upgrades reflect their impact on SEG revenue
- The full price of a 2-night solo upgrade reservation is now set at $500
- The full price of a 3-night solo upgrade reservation is now set at $600
Roommates & Buddies:
If requesting to share accommodations with specific friends, make your reservations at the same time to ensure success.
Unmarried couples cannot be placed together.
Special Needs/Handicap Access:
We have limited accommodations for special needs and these are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
When registering, use the NOTE area provided on the Reservation Form to indicate your special needs or requests.
We will make every effort to accommodate your requests.
Important: Allergy concerns
In recent years, some of the Retreat Village rooms in the Lower Camp have been found to be prone to mold and mildew. The upper camp is not prone to this. If you are sensitive to molds, please register accordingly – choose to register in the Premium, Semi-private, or Dorms in the Upper Camp.
Registration is always on a first come, first served basis. If you are not able to obtain your preferred accommodation, you could consider renting a motel room or an Air B&B in town. The registration fee would then be the Day Rate for the Gathering, which covers food, use of the camp, and our program costs.
Should you find your assigned accommodations at the Gathering do not meet your needs upon inspection, communicate immediately to registration desk and every effort will be made to shift you to a more suitable location.
The Southeast Gathering cannot afford and will not be able to disburse refunds due to perceived inadequacy of accommodations.
